Askeladdene
Directed by Hans-Eivind Urbye, Juan had the privilege of creating original music for this Norwegian documentary series currently still in the post-production process. It's about two friends who decide to throw caution to the wind and travel all across Asia meeting people and experiencing all kinds of sights, sounds, smells, and tastes foreign to them. The name Askeladdene is in reference to the norwegian fairy tale.
Hans' and Juan spoke in depth about the direction for the music but the general direction that was agreed upon was the following: whimsical, electronic, worldly, sensitive, and epic. The vocals in the final portion of the music were performed by Juan himself and his wife Jaclyn Avellan (they actually met in High School choir!).
